What's new
How Sonarush has grown, version by version. For each one, the things that really matter to players; the game itself tells you what's new in the version you've just installed.
3.0: SonarBall, renewed characters and purchases
2 November 2026
The version that changes how you play the most since 2.0.
- SonarBall: a new permanent mode, three against three with a jingling ball. Shoot with the attack key, lob with the super key, and the first to two goals wins. A goal has its own orchestral sound, which changes with the team.
- Renewed characters: four close speeds, the Fighter class, fast tanks that also charge their super by taking hits, shooters with the longest range. Everyone has 3 shots, a super never does less than the attack, and gadgets only have a cooldown.
- Grom rebuilt: he throws three mines in a triangle, which blow up on whoever they hit or stay on the ground for three seconds; his super is a megamine that chases the nearest enemy, and you hear it coming like a burning fuse. The Miner's Patience gadget keeps the mines of the next throw on the ground for ten seconds.
- Thora: her super opens a zone as long as her range and 4 metres wide, dealing 800 damage per second to whoever stays inside.
- Boltina: Tecla's turret stays until it is destroyed, and the radar calls it by name.
- Level 10 is worth twice level 1: health, damage, supers, healing and shields.
- Aim tied to the character: aim assist locks according to the character, and your shot goes where the enemy is, without leading.
- More range, wider shots: all characters have one extra meter of range and 10 more degrees of cone, for the shot and for the aim lock.
- A richer Sonarium: a Frequency department for Plus and tiers, gem packs that say how good a deal they are, and a list of your purchases.
- More consistent menus: going back returns you to the item you started from, and every submenu ends with Back.
- Purchases: the Sonarium sells gems, and skins and Frequency Plus have a direct price, in euros in the European Union and in dollars elsewhere. You pay on a secure Stripe page; no advantages in matches, and Sonar Prizes are not for sale. The rules are in the terms of use.
- Gem prices: skins 119, specials 149, Frequency Plus 299, and a Frequency tier 45 gems. Gems no longer convert into anything.
- The Frequency follows your account on every computer, King of the Hill ends at 100 points, and Sonar Prizes skip pointless taps.

2.1: Autumn Fog
26 October 2026
Season 2 begins on 2 November, and Radio Sonora announces it.
- The mode of the day in the fog: at the bottom of the modes, a different one every day, from 300 trophies. Distant sounds come through muffled, nearby ones stay clear. Trophies count; online it has its own queue, and in the Rehearsal Room the leader can turn the fog on.
- Bram, the bell-ringer, from 2 November: a rare tank whose toll pushes away anyone close and lets the team hear where the enemies are; with Mute his footsteps can't be heard.
- Fog Missions: five, played in the fog. The last one gives the Lighthouse Keeper, a skin that can't be bought.
- Fog skins: the usual sounds, veiled, with a costume on top. Zoe the Lamplighter, Kael the Fog Wolf and Elodie the Veiled Lady at the Sonarium; Morgana the Mist Witch at the last Frequency Plus tier. A skin you win for a character you don't have stays yours.
- Clubs from the leaderboard: Enter on a club opens its page, with members and their profiles, and you can join from there.
- At the end of an online match you hear your trophies again, with the bell, and friend and club notifications arrive without delay.
- Online matches count for everything: missions (eliminations, damage, supers, character missions), character stats and records, elimination experience and the Star Player bonus. Before, only offline matches did.
- An apology gift: if you were playing before 2.1, you'll find 20000 Frequency experience points in the Sonarium, under the daily gift, to collect once.
Balance
Level 1 values; they grow with levels as always.
- Mira: each shot of her burst deals 200 damage instead of 250 (her whole attack goes from 1500 to 1200), and each shot of her super 250 instead of 300.
- Faro: Attack from 980 to 1050.
- Tessa: Attack from 960 to 1000.
- Volkan: Speed from 4.4 to 4.6.
2.0.1
23 October 2026
- The radar names characters: online too, R, F, G and the range key say the character, not the player's name.
- Halloween online too: online matches have the event music again, until 1 November.
- The introductions and tips of King of the Hill and Heist talk about pulses instead of hums, in every language.
- Players coming from 1.1.1 still hear what's new in 2.0.
2.0: Sonarush online
23 October 2026
The biggest version ever: Sonarush becomes an online game, played with other people, without losing anything it had offline.
Play with people
- Online matches with players whose trophies are close to yours. If someone is still missing after ten seconds, medium-difficulty bots take the empty spots. Trophies and rewards as always, calculated by the server.
- An online match sounds like an offline one: same sounds, same phrases, everyone from their own side of the field, and your own footsteps without delay. Players in the other half hear the arena turned around, so their north always points at the enemy.
- If your connection drops, a bot steers your character and you rejoin within a minute. Whoever quits and sees their team lose loses the trophies for the defeat.
- Quick chat: eight ready-made phrases on keys 1 to 8, heard by everyone in their own language, with the name of the character who sent them.
Friends, squads and clubs
- Friends: who's online and what they're doing, requests, recently met players, blocked players, reports. A sound and a sentence for every friend coming online, request and invite.
- Squads: invite a friend, choose the mode, and play on the same side.
- Rooms and the online Rehearsal Room: a custom match among friends, with bots of any difficulty, the map you want and up to ten spectators.
- Listening to a friend: their match, from their point of view.
- Clubs of up to 30 members, with roles (member, elder, vice president, president), a chat of ready-made phrases and a club leaderboard.
- Leaderboards: global, national and per character, and a public profile for every player.
- Do not disturb: no invites, nobody listening in, no notifications.
Your online account
- Created automatically, with no email or password. Progress is also saved on the server and adds up across several computers.
- The recovery code brings your account anywhere; a six-character code links a second computer; an optional email gets you back in even without the code.
- Anyone who skips the training on first launch can say right away that they already have an account and pick it up.
- The account can be deleted from the game, with 14 days to change your mind.
Rotating modes
- Open modes rotate through three turns, the same for everyone, so online matches fill up fast: Duel and Star Hunt alternate at 8 UTC, King of the Hill and Heist at 20 UTC, and Survival is always there.
- Siege opens at weekends, and maps change on each turn of their mode.
- Survival with acid, bubbling in from the edge towards the centre; a turned-around Heist, with your safe to the south and the enemy's to the north.
- The Sonarush day starts for everyone at 8 UTC, using the server's time.
Refreshed characters
- Every character has a gadget of their own, and every gadget will have its own sound. Here come Grom's Detonator, which blows up his mines on the ground, Nyx's Bite, Mira's Long Burst and Mariarita's Mending, which for a few seconds keeps the most wounded teammate from falling.
- Kai's Calm Note also heals the nearest teammate, Volkan's Seismic Punch pushes back, Morgana's Flying Broom leaves a puddle, and Tecla's Hard Hat also protects her turret.
- Faro heals by hitting: every hit heals nearby teammates, and his new Star Power, Dawn, removes slows.
Balance
Level 1 values; they grow with levels as always.
- Range 12% shorter for everyone, 15% for Nova, Thora and Elodie: for example Mira from 10 to 8.8 metres, Thora from 15 to 12.8.
- Ammo: three instead of four for Lyra, Zara, Echo, Nova, Bruno, Tessa, Faro, Nyx, Vex and Tecla, three instead of five for Mariarita and Zoe; in return they reload faster, by 10% (Mariarita and Zoe by 15%). Thora and Elodie stay at two.
- Grom: Attack from 950 to 850; his shot slows by 25% for 1.5 seconds instead of 50% for 2.5 (his super still slows by 50% for 2.5).
- Nova: Attack from 1100 to 1020; explosion from 3 to 2.5 metres; her Star Power Long Shot gives 20% more instead of 40%.
- Elodie: Attack from 1700 to 1600.
- Faro: HP from 3700 to 3900, Attack from 900 to 980, super in 7 hits instead of 8.
- Mariarita: HP from 3700 to 3900, Attack from 800 to 920, super in 7 hits instead of 8.
- Zara: HP from 3600 to 3800, Attack from 850 to 1000.
- Tessa: Attack from 900 to 960, super in 5 hits instead of 6.
- Zoe: Attack from 1100 to 1300.
Sounds in the match
- Behind you and beyond walls sound comes through muffled rather than lower: with headphones and 3D audio you already hear where it comes from, and the veil only says "not in front of you".
- The zone, the safes, the Core and the cauldrons no longer hum continuously: a pulse every two and a half seconds and, in between, silence, where you hear the footsteps of anyone approaching.
- Lobbed shots whistle as they fall and a tick marks where they will land, half a second before. The whoosh of a shot in flight is heard only when it is really coming at you.
- Other players' footsteps are at most three at a time, the nearest; bushes are heard only up close.
- Danger comes first: when a shot is coming at you, has hit you or your health is low, the background (presences, landmarks, objectives) dips for a moment and then comes back.
- An opening jingle while the game loads, with sounds circling your head; in Season 2 a windy one plays instead.
And also
- A daily gift at the top of the Sonarium.
- A 70-step Frequency from the second season, with the season's exclusive skin on the last Plus step.
- Sonar Rewards with a single prize, worth a fixed amount for its rarity; gems only in Echo Chests.
- Reorganised menus and settings: a Rewards menu, a Help and information menu, settings grouped by topic, a profile read one line at a time, automatic character unlocking.
- Mandatory updates, made clearer, so everyone plays the same version.
- Fairer matches: when everything else is equal, nobody gets an edge from the order of the players.
- A privacy notice and terms of use, in Italian and English.
1.1.1
19 October 2026
- Kael's super hits every enemy along his dash; Draco reflects damage from every hit taken up close; Deep Roots really does extend Lyra's healing zone.
- The game no longer closes in Duel against Echo.
- With 3D audio, low sounds no longer seem farther away than they are; range cues account for Nova's explosions, Morgana's puddles and Grom's mines.
- On Windows the game puts a shortcut on your desktop.
- The first version delivered by automatic update.
Balance
Level 1 values; they grow with levels as always.
- Supports (Lyra, Zara, Faro, Mariarita) also charge their super by healing allies and when their shield blocks hits: one hit of charge every 600 points, up to half a super per life.
- Mariarita: super in 8 hits instead of 9.
- Renzo: super in 6 hits instead of 5.
- Morgana: her puddle deals 260 damage per second instead of 300.
- Echo: Attack from 1150 to 1250.
- Tecla: her turret's shots charge her super like super hits.
1.1
19 October 2026
- 3D audio for headphones: every sound comes from its own direction, in front, to the side or behind. Sounds behind you stay slightly lower, and at the same distance a sound is just as loud from every side.
- Braille with NVDA and JAWS: everything the game says also goes to your braille display, as it already did with VoiceOver.
- Player names, chosen on first launch while hearing the letters as you type, checked against offensive words.
- Automatic updates: the game downloads the new version while you play and reopens updated. It only installs signed packages, so a fake file couldn't get through.
- New sounds for reloading and for a charged super; Kai's and Zoe's supers hit every enemy in line.
- Your profile is protected against editing outside the game.
- On Mac, macOS 14 Sonoma or later is required, and the first launch is unblocked from Terminal.
1.0.1 and 1.0.2
17 and 18 October 2026
- Fixes from the first reports after launch.
- Supers that hit charge a little of the next super.
- Missions with three fixed levels, clearer.
- Louder status sounds: elimination, super ready, taking a hit and healing stand out above the rest.
- Between Duel rounds the arena stays still; bots no longer get stuck in wall corners.
1.0: the first complete version
7 October 2026
After three months of test builds, Sonarush comes out in its complete version, for Windows and Mac with the same sounds on both, together with the Halloween event.
Halloween
- A new mode, the Pumpkin Harvest: three against three, pumpkins to find by ear from the crackle of their candle and carry to your team's cauldron.
- The arenas at night, with landmarks in costume and new music.
- Five event missions, Pumpkin Rewards and five exclusive skins.
A new progression
- Four rarities across the whole game: common, rare, epic, legendary.
- Sonar Rewards: the first three wins of the day give a reward you open in four taps, hearing its rarity rise.
- Echo Chests, with four items each.
- The Frequency, the free seasonal path: one season a month, with Frequency Plus for 179 gems.
- The Decibel Ladder up to 20,000 trophies, and Resonance for whoever has every character.
- No real-money purchases: everything is earned by playing.
In the game
- Two new characters: Morgana, the legendary witch who lobs potions over low walls, and Tecla, the epic engineer with her turret.
- A new map for every arena.
- The sonar on the S key and footsteps that echo in corridors.
- Aim that leads running targets, and supers that charge faster or slower depending on how powerful they are.
- The end-of-match recap and the Star Player.
- The Rehearsal Room, to try any mode, map and character, and the Range.
- Almost every sound remade: each character with their real weapon, and the menu melody at important moments.
- Eighteen languages, picked automatically from your system, and the end credits.
0.93: Readability
September 2026
Born from one forum post: in a match it was hard to tell where things were and whether shots landed. The answer was to get what was already there to your ear more clearly.
- A new mode, Siege, co-op against waves, with the Siege weekend.
- Team arenas get walls that stop shots, muffle sounds and can be broken by supers; and bushes to hide in.
- Four fixed landmarks per arena and the W key to know where you are; the map explorer on F2; nearby obstacles on O.
- Hit confirmation for every kind of damage, with a pitch that rises as the enemy weakens.
- Enemy presence pulses, enemy footsteps are lower, and every character has a pace you can hear.
- Duel becomes best of five; coins finally upgrade characters; cracking the safe in Heist pays a bonus.
- The first sound skins, to try before buying; the day streak and "Your next step".
- All audio remade and levelled.
0.92: Depth
August 2026
- Every character gets their own magazine, from two to five shots, and reloading rises in pitch as it fills.
- Tanks also charge their super by taking hits.
- Twenty Star Powers, one per character, each with its own sound when it triggers.
- The event of the day, with double coins and experience, and personal records.
- Every elimination can be heard, and an opponent's defeat sounds different from yours.
- What's new in each version, told by the game on first launch.
0.91: Deep accessibility
August 2026
- A new Voice and Announcements menu: three verbosity levels, announcement categories you can turn off, announcement pace on Windows too.
- You can hear shots in flight coming.
- The radar goes from four to eight directions, also as compass points.
- Standing still and charging at an enemy no longer sound the same.
- Settings rebuilt from scratch, with six separate volumes.
0.90: the first beta
August 2026
- A new mode, Heist, with two safes that hum differently and a shield at every quarter of their health.
- Star Hunt with a goal you can hear: ten stars and fifteen seconds.
- King of the Hill tells you when you step in and out of the zone.
- The guide in the main menu, a back key that works everywhere, three-level missions.
0.27 to 0.30: the first public test builds
July 2026
- The first versions for Windows and Mac, tested by players on the AudioGames.net forum.
- Spatial audio, the radar, aim assist and range you can hear.
- Twenty characters, each with a real weapon and a personality; Kai as the starting character.
- Trophies that settle at your level, per-character win streaks, daily and weekly missions, gadgets to unlock.
- The first settings for players who hear less on one side: panning limit, a separate ambience volume, lower-pitched sounds from behind.
- Menu navigation by first letter and position announcements.
Every test build grew out of players' suggestions. Thanks to everyone who wrote in.
